Prontosan
Prontosan is the world’s leading wound irrigation solution. It is a no-rinse, completely broad-spectrum antimicrobial irrigant that has proven more effective than anything else available.
Traditional wound cleansing with saline, antibiotic solutions and even antimicrobials is ineffective at removing wound coatings, debris and especially complex Biofilms.
Prontosan utilizes a combination of two powerful ingredients, Betaine and Polyhedanide (PHMB), that work together to effectively prepare the wound site for healing. The combination of the two ingredients results in a product with a very low surface tension, even lower than saline, which allows for more effective softening, loosening, detachment and removal of wound debris. Additionally, PHMB has been used commercially for decades and has shown no bacterial resistance.
